Sonora Man Arrested For Having A Blackjack

Sonora, CA – A traffic stop led to the arrest of a Sonora man for having a blackjack weapon.

A Tuolumne County Sheriff’s deputy recently stopped a vehicle with an expired registration in the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road, near the Crossroads Shopping Center. After questioning the driver, 39-year-old Seth Alderson, he gave consent to search his vehicle.

Inside the vehicle, near the center console, the deputy discovered a leather-weighted club, also known as a “blackjack,” a type of baton used by law enforcement. Alderson was arrested for felony possession of a lead cane or other similar weapon, which is illegal to have in California.
