Update: Power Outage Stretched From Sonora To Columbia

Update at 10:12 am: PG&E reports that the earlier power outage in Sonora and Columbia has been fully restored. The company has not released a cause.

Original story posted at 9:08 am: Sonora, CA — PG&E says that 3,116 customers lost electricity at 8:49 am, impacting parts of downtown Sonora, and stretching up Highway 49 through Columbia.

The cause of the outage is under investigation, according to PG&E. The company states, “Our team is evaluating the electrical system to identify damaged sections and make necessary repairs in order to safely turn the power back on.”

The company has not released an estimated restoration time. We will pass along more information as it becomes available.
