Update: Truck Fire On J-59 Impacts Traffic

Update at 11:58 am: J-59 is back open.

Update at 10:10 am: The CHP reports that it was a garbage truck carrying trash that caught on fire on J-59 near Red Hills Road. The flames have been knocked down, but cleanup is anticipated to take around four hours. The CHP reports that J-59 is being closed between Highway 108 and north of Red Hills Road. Traffic is being diverted to Red Hills Road as a detour. Be prepared for activity in the area.

Original story posted at 9:43 am: Tuolumne County, CA — First responders are arriving on the scene of a fire involving a big-rig truck on J-59 near Red Hills Road.

The CHP reports that the vehicle has pulled over to the side of J-59.

It has also caused a small roadside vegetation fire.

Be prepared for activity in the area. There are no reports of any injuries.
