Calaveras County Annual Striping Work Underway

Calaveras County, CA – Motorists can expect delays for the next several weeks as the annual striping program is underway in Calaveras County.

The work began yesterday (Tuesday, Oct. 15) and will continue through mid-November on select county-maintained roads. The first community on the list is Dorrington, and the striping work will continue through Arnold. County road officials state that updates on the project will follow as crews move through other Calaveras communities. They noted that there will be traffic delays of up to 10 minutes, as striping is a slow and continuously rolling operation.

The county has hired Crews Chrisp Company, out of Freemont, to conduct the work during daylight hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Flaggers will be directing motorists, who along with pedestrians are urged to use caution around personnel and equipment in the cone zones.

Questions or those needing to report urgent road-related issues can contact the Calaveras County Public Works Department at (209) 754-6401 during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM). After regular business hours, please contact the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office at (209) 754-6500 (non-emergency phone number).
