Tuolumne Man Arrested For Concealed Knife And Theft

Sonora, CA – A Tuolumne man was caught red-handed loading stolen items into his pickup bed and was armed with several knives.

Sonora Police officers recently spotted a man loading tires into his truck bed just after midnight behind the Big O Tires store on Mono Way. Officers noticed an unsheathed fixed-blade knife concealed in the waistline of his pants. That led to a patdown of the suspect, 39-year-old Michael Ruthersford, and another fixed-blade knife was discovered in the subject’s rear pant pocket.

Ruthersford was arrested for felony carrying a dirk or dagger and misdemeanor theft.
