Guardrail Repairs Bring Delays For Travelers On O’Byrnes Ferry Road

Tuolumne County, CA – Motorists can expect delays starting next week on the O’Byrnes Ferry Road bridge for guardrail repairs.

The damage is to a section of the rail in the eastbound lane on the Tuolumne County side of the bridge where it curves and meets the roadway. Calaveras County Department of Public Works crews are set to begin the work on Monday, October 28, 2024.

Flaggers will be directing one-lane traffic on the bridge with signage posted. There will also be portable transverse rumble strips to slow down drivers. Motorists can expect delays of up to 10 minutes during the repairs, which will take place during daylight hours. The work is slated to be completed by Friday, November 8, 2024.

Any questions or road repair reports, call the Calaveras County Public Works Department at (209) 754-6401 during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm). After regular business hours, please contact the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office at (209) 754-6500 (non-emergency phone number).
