There are many events planned for the weekend of November 2nd, and 3rd.
First, it is the last day to sign up for early bird special pricing to join the Westside Little League Baseball. Registration is encouraged now for the upcoming 2025 Spring Season for players ages 4 to 15. The League offers T-Ball, machine pitch and player pitch. Details are here.
Friday the Sonora Lions Club will host a Surf and Turf Dinner inside of the Sonora Elks Lodge. The dinner includes New York Steak, Prawns, Baked Potato, Garlic Bread, Caesar Salad and a Dessert. This fundraising event will be held from 5:30 until 7:30. There will be door prizes, ticket details are here.
Friday the Sonora High Fall Festival is a family carnival event that is open to the public on the day after Halloween, that will include games, a cake walk, music & more. There is no cost to attend, but there are costs associated with the games and activities. The Friday event from 3:45 to 6 PM will raise money for School Leadership and the ASB.
The Mother Lode Holistic Fair will be held at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds from 10 AM to 4 PM. Organizers have put together “A special event for Mind, Body, and Soul.” There will be demonstrations, connections, resources, healing, crystals, hand crafted goods, wellness products, spiritual and healing tools, and eco friendly creations. Admission is free with Wellness practitioners in yoga, massage, alternative, spiritual healers, acupuncture, reiki, oracle/tarot readers, and other holistic health. The event will also include healthy food vendors, organic, home grown, homemade and health-focused foods and beverages. Details are here.
Saturday is Murphys Dia de Los Muertos with events and activities found throughout downtown Murphys and mostly in Murphys Community Park. There will be traditional artisan vendors, food, drinks, and a community altar in the Park. There will be face painters, traditional dancers, live music and more. This is a family friendly event, rain or shine.
The League of Women Voters of the Mother Lode will hold their November General Meeting on Saturday from 10am to noon at the Sonora branch of the Tuolumne County Library. Debi Bautista, recently retired county clerk and auditor-controller of Tuolumne County, will speak about her experiences in those roles. The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan citizens organization of men and women dedicated to empowering voters and defending democracy by providing voter information and advocating for voters rights.
Dance Like Nobody’s Watching at the Aronos Clubhouse on Saturday from 7 to 9 PM.
The Christian Motorcyclists Associate Chapter, Sierra Saints, is hosting a breakfast from 9 to 11AM at the Sonora Moose Lodge on Longeway Road. The breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, and eggs for $15. All proceeds go to outreach for Jesus and worldwide evangelism.
Calaveras Humane Society is hosting the Winter Pet Pawtraits photo event. Get professional pictures of your pet with a variety of whimsical, winter- and holiday-themed options. Appointment and donation details are in the event listing.
The Angels Camp Business Association presents the downtown Angels Camp Wine Hop this Saturday from 4 to 7 PM. This is a fun evening, where participants will be sipping local wine while shopping & dining in the downtown Angels Camp district. Your ticket includes a commemorative wine glass as detailed here.
Saturday from 4:30 to 6:30PM inside of the Mountain Ranch Community Club, the Central Calaveras Firefighters Association’s will host its Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser. The dinner is dine-in or takeout, details are here.
St Matthew Lutheran Church on Sonora will hold its annual Christmas Fair and Luncheon this Saturday. This will take place from 10 in the morning through 2 in the afternoon at the Church located on Joshua Way in Sonora. The admission is free and you’ll be able to enjoy soup & a salad luncheon for $15 a person. There will be raffles for gift baskets and a quilt.
Murphys Creek Theatre is performing “A Sign You Were Alive” at 7:30 pm on Saturday at Murphys Creek Theatre. Performances run through Nov. 3rd on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 pm, matinees on Sunday at 2 pm.
Join Fourth Wall Entertainment for “East of Oz” the new twist on the old tale is what might have happened if Dorothy’s house had landed on the Wicked Witch of the West instead of East. The dystopian version of Oz features familiar characters who tangle with the Wicked Witch of the East in this jukebox musical. Performances run through Nov. 17 on Friday and Saturday nights at 7pm, matinees on Sunday at 2 pm.
