Road Rage Reportedly Led To Gunshot Fired In Sonora

Sonora, CA — The Sonora Police Department is providing details about a recent incident that reportedly happened on Barretta Street.

A week ago today, Friday, October 25, at around 4:15 pm, the PD received a report about a road rage dispute that ended with at least one gunshot fired.

The people inside the two vehicles involved got into some type of argument on Washington Street and one of the vehicles, with two people inside, followed the other over to Barretta Street, near the Livingston Street intersection, south of Cassina High School.

Corporal Thomas Brickley says, “While they were following the victim, one of the suspects brandished a firearm and fired at least one round from the vehicle.”

The victim, and the vehicle, were not hit.

The PD is unclear who the two suspects were, but Brickley says they are described as being white male adults and possibly in their twenties or thirties. One had a goatee and the other was clean-shaven.

He adds, “There were no injuries reported. The suspects then drove away in an unknown direction.”

The two suspects were reportedly in a light blue colored sedan.

Brickley adds that if anyone has information regarding this case, please contact the Sonora PD. They are also looking for video surveillance and witnesses to the incident.
