Sonora, CA — It is Election Day and the Vote Centers will be open from 7 am until 8 pm across California.
If you still have a ballot to drop off, the official drop boxes are a good option at this point. If you still are planning to send a ballot through the mail, election officials say it is best to physically take it into the post office, and have it stamped by a worker, to ensure it is postmarked by today. If it is just dropped in a mailbox, it might not be post-marked until tomorrow (and ineligible).
There will be twice hourly local election updates after the polls close on AM 1450/FM 102.7 KVML, Star 92.7 and 93.5 KKBN. The results will also be posted on myMotherLode.com. KVML will also provide special live national election coverage throughout the evening with updates on the race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.
In the Mother Lode, there are board of supervisor races, Angels Camp City Council, school boards, special districts, and tax measures.
There are also competitive regional Assembly and Congressional races.
