Calaveras County, CA — Today and Tuesday (11/12), in honor of Veterans Day, military members can take home a new furry companion for free.
Calaveras County Animal Services (CCAS) is offering free adoptions of any available animals to those serving active duty or anyone who served in the US military. The adoption includes spay/neuter, UTD on all shots, and a microchip. There is also a bonus goodie bag to take home. Veterans must have proof of their military service.
The offer is good today, Saturday, November 9th, and Tuesday, November 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the CCAS office at 901 Jeff Tuttle Drive in San Andreas. A meet and greet is required for those who have another dog. A dog license is not included. Any questions can be directed to the CCAS office by calling (209) 754-6509.
Shelter officials say it is their way of saying “thank you for your dedication and service” to military members and their families.
