Valley Dale Apartment Project Planned Near Standard

Sonora, CA — A 56-unit apartment project is going through the environmental review process in Tuolumne County.

The Valley Dale development is proposed by the Stanislaus Regional Housing Authority, which oversees affordable housing units with income caps.

It is planned to be built along 4.3 acres at 14562 Peaceful Valley Road. It is approximately 2,200 feet northwest of the intersection of Peaceful Valley Road and Mono Way. There would be 20 three-bedroom units, 15 two-bedroom units, and 18 one-bedroom units. In addition, there would be a community room, community kitchen, maintenance room, laundry facilities, and a playground. 91 parking spaces would be provided, including solar carport structures.

To move forward, the project needs a zone change, an amendment to the county’s general plan, a site development permit, and some public utility easements. The project is likely to go before the Tuolumne County Planning Commission next year.

The required Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration environmental document was just published and there is now a 30-day public review period open, through December 13. You can find the full study by clicking here.
