Jamestown, CA – A Modesto man was handcuffed for DUI after a solo vehicle crash on Highway 108/120.
The collision happened west of O’Byrnes Ferry Road after 1 p.m. last Wednesday, November 6, and blocked the westbound lane for about an hour while CHP officers directed backed-up traffic. The CHP reports that 24-year-old Christopher Hooper and his passenger, 22-year-old Orion Ingram, both from Modesto, were in a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe westbound. They noted that as Hopper came upon slowed traffic, he allowed his SUV to leave the roadway. It then struck a curb and overturned onto its roof. Luckily, Hooper and Ingram were able to escape the vehicle, suffering only minor injuries.
During the investigation, CHP officers determined Hooper was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and was placed under arrest. Hooper was booked for felony DUI.
