Sonora And Summerville Ready To Kick Off Football Playoffs

Sonora, CA — Both the Sonora Wildcats and Summerville Bears received first-round byes in the CIF Sac Joaquin football playoffs.

The Wildcats are the third seed in the Division Six bracket and will host Calaveras High at home with kick-off planned for 7 pm this evening. Calaveras, the 11thj seed, beat sixth seed Wheatland last week, 24-14. Sonora and Calaveras were previously together in the Mother Lode League, but Sonora High joined the Trans Valley League this season.

Summerville High is the top seed in the Division Seven bracket and hosts the 8th seed Gustine at 7 pm tonight. Gustine defeated Golden Sierra last Friday, 21-18.

Summerville High football airs live on 93.5 KKBN and Sonora High on AM 1450/FM 102.7 KVML. The audio is also streamed on myMotherLode.com.
