Sonora, CA — The state’s passage of Proposition 36, and county voters denying a sale tax measure, and the impacts on law enforcement, will be discussed on this weekend’s Mother Lode Views.
The guest will be Tuolumne County Sheriff David Vasquez.
Vasquez has received questions about those topics from several community members over the past week. Vasquez supported Proposition 36 as it increases penalties on several offenses in California. He will detail what it means for local law enforcement.
He will also speak about whether the failure of the Measure Z tax measure changes any of his short or long-term planning for the department.
In addition, he will detail recent crime trends, and initiatives of the sheriff’s office, such as recommitting to school resource officers, and the narcotics division.
Mother Lode Views airs Saturday and Sunday morning at 9:30 on AM 1450 and FM 102.7 KVML. Mother Lode Views can also be heard Sunday morning at 10 o’clock on 93.5 KKBN and at 9 a.m. on STAR 92.7.
