Valley Springs, CA—Imagine suddenly seeing a vehicle heading straight for the building while eating at a restaurant—that is what happened to patrons of a Valley Springs eatery.
On Wednesday (11/20) afternoon, Calaveras Consolidated Fire (CCF) responded to an SUV that had crashed into the front of Good Friends Chinese Restaurant at 9 California Street, along the Highway 12 and 26 intersection.
After firefighters evacuated the restaurant, a county building inspector was called to evaluate whether there was any structural damage. They determined there were no structural integrity issues. Then, according to fire officials, a building contractor boarded up the front of the restaurant, allowing the eatery to reopen.
The CHP reports it was a non-injury collision and the cause is under investigation.
