Sonora, CA — The Sonora Chamber of Commerce, along with various partners, is gearing up for the fourth annual Christmas Town Sonora festivities.
It kicks off on Wednesday, November 27, with the downtown lighting ceremony featuring the St. James Church, Courthouse Square, and Washington Street businesses. There will be a break on the Thanksgiving holiday, and on Friday, November 29 will be the historic lighted Christmas parade.
Other highlights over the next month include Christmas Tree Lane, the Holly Jolly Wagon, the Giving Tree, caroling, and special activities geared at specific age groups.
The concept is to give the downtown district the feel of a Hallmark movie during the season and bring more holiday shoppers to the area.
This weekend’s Mother Lode Views, previewing all of the events, will feature Sonora Chamber of Commerce CEO Katie Dunn, and Sonora Mayor Ann Segerstrom.
Mother Lode Views airs Saturday and Sunday morning at 9:30 on AM 1450 and FM 102.7 KVML. Mother Lode Views can also be heard Sunday morning at 10 o’clock on 93.5 KKBN and at 9 a.m. on STAR 92.7.
