Sonora To Host 41st Annual Christmas Parade

Sonora, CA– The City of Sonora will host its 41st annual Christmas Parade on Friday, November 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in downtown Sonora. The event is expected to attract thousands of visitors, with spectators encouraged to arrive by 5:00 p.m. to secure parking and prime viewing spots.

For those looking to avoid parking, the Tuolumne County Transit is offering free rides to the parade starting at 3:00 p.m. The bus will pick up passengers at the Junction Shopping Center near TJ Maxx and drop off at Lyons St./Shepherd St. in downtown Sonora. The bus will run every 15-20 minutes during the event. For more details, call 209-532-0404.

ADA-accessible parking will be available at the Fountain Parking Lot (South Washington/Church intersection) and level 2 of the Terzich Parking Structure at 95 North Green St.

Public alcohol consumption is prohibited during the parade, and open containers are prohibited. After the parade, the route will remain closed for approximately 20 minutes to allow spectators to leave. Motorists can expect heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Traffic from Highway 49 to Highway 108 should bypass the parade route using Shaws Flat Roadd. to Jamestown Road. Large trucks will not be able to use the downtown Stewart Street detour.
