Central Valley Morning Fog On Thanksgiving

Holiday travelers, be aware. Dense fog will blanket the Central Valley on Thanksgiving morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for the central San Joaquin Valley from 11 PM this evening until 11 AM Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. Additionally, a Dense Fog Advisory will also be in effect for the Northern San Joaquin Valley from 11 PM this evening until 11 AM Thursday.

Visibility in the dense fog will range from one quarter of a mile down to as low as 200 feet.

Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

If you are driving and encounter dense fog, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

If you need to cross the Sierra Nevada, Highway 88 Carson Pass, is open with no restrictions. Highway 108 Sonora Pass, remains closed at Snow Park. Highway 4 Ebbetts Pass, is now closed at Lake Alpine. Highway 120 Tioga Pass, is closed for the season at Crane Flat.
