Bear Valley, CA — Some fresh snow in the high country arrived ahead of an opening day announcement for a pair of local ski resorts.
Dodge Ridge in Tuolumne County and Bear Valley in Alpine County will both open for the new season on Friday, November 29.
Dodge Ridge reports, “Over the past 24 hours, we’ve received an impressive 10″ of fresh snow at the summit and 8″ at the base, setting the stage for an amazing start to winter. Lifts will start spinning at 9 AM on Opening Day, with early season conditions expected. We anticipate operating Chairs 5, 6, 7, 8, and Conveyor 3.”
Dodge Ridge will be open through the weekend with more announcements about future hours of operation to follow.
Bear Valley will be open Fridays through Sundays, starting this weekend, and plans to shift to seven-day operations on December 13. Lifts operating this weekend will include Mokelumne Express, Cub, Super Cub and Red Carpet. Runs open will include Mokelumne, Mokelumne West, Lodge Run, Cub Meadow, Ego Alley and Rodeo.
Runs open with early conditions existing are Porridge Bowl, Groovy Gully, Australia Street, Spring Gap Road, Lift Line, Yellow Submarine, Monte Wolfe, National Tuck’s Traverse, Cornice, Hank’s Nastar, Kyle’s Feature Duster, Sugar, Koala Lift Line, and Lonely Pine.
Both resorts will be hosting special activities in recognition of opening weekend.
