41st Sonora Christmas Parade Lights Up Downtown

Sonora, CA — Wearing scarves, hats, and gloves, the cool temperature did not stop many from coming out to line Washington Street and celebrate the 41st Sonora Christmas Parade.

The parade is put on each year by the City of Sonora as a way to draw visitors downtown on the day after Thanksgiving. It is the kickoff to the Christmas season. There were over 80 entries this year, ranging from local businesses to non-profits, churches, first responders, and law enforcement officers. Marching down the street were plenty of bands, colorful floats, classic cars, and, of course, Mr. and Mrs. Claus wishing all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Click on the photos to see many of the entrants in the image box and click here for a video of some of the fun!
