The Winter Weather Advisory issued for the western slope of the northern Sierra Nevada and the Winter Storm Warning issued for Yosemite National Park (above the valley floor), will expire at 7 PM tonight.
Snowfall continues for elevations above 5,000 feet.
According to the National Weather Service, the snow levels are currently around 5,500 feet, falling to near 5,000 feet by this evening.
Additional snow accumulations above the 6,000 foot elevation, will range between three inches to half-a-foot.
Winds will continue to gust as high as forty to fifty mph.
Plan on slippery road conditions, with travel delays and chain controls possible. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
