According to the National Weather Service, a series of wet and cold Pacific storms will impact the area late Monday through Friday.
Rainfall totals will likely range from one to three inches in the Northern San Joaquin Valley. Two to five inches of rain is expected in the lower Sierra Nevada.
Initially high snow levels late Monday will drop down to the 3,500 to 4,500 foot elevation by Wednesday through Friday.
Gusty winds will accompany each storm.
Persons planning travel into the mountains next week should be prepared for periods of hazardous winter driving conditions.
