Father’s Day Weekend Events

Warm weather is in the Father’s Day weekend forecast with several events planned outside in the Mother Lode.

Celebrate summertime and support local youth mentoring at “THE PARTY,” coming up on Friday evening in Vallecito. The event is Calaveras Mentoring Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser for the Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program, details are here.

Friday is opening day for Disney’s Beauty And The Beast, the musical will be performed by Sierra Repertory Theatre (SRT) at the Fallon House. Details are here.

Saturday begins the 52nd Annual Father’s Day Fly-In at the Columbia Airport. The Father’s Day Fly-In will host plane vs car races, fly-bys, airplane rides, the Tiger Squadron and the Red Star Pilots both Saturday and Sunday. Don’t miss the pancake breakfast at the campgrounds and an early bird BBQ under the shade of the tents. More details are here.

Saturday at 10AM attend the Emergency Evacuation Procedures Community Meeting held at the Word of Life Fellowship Hall in Mi-Wuk Village. Presentations will be given by the  California Highway Patrol and Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, the event is sponsored by the Mi Wuk/ Sugar Pine Fire Protection District Auxiliary and Mi Wuk Area Homeowners Alliance, admission is free as detailed here.

The Annual Torch Run will send local 2018 Summer Game athletes off to Davis for the Special Olympics. The event starts in Sonora at the Red Church at 10AM and ends at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds with a BBQ that helps support Special Olympics.

Saturday morning in Copperopolis is the 5th annual Hot Rods and Harleys Poker Run.  The VFW Auxiliary will help send packages to those serving overseas. More details are here.

The 2nd annual Garden Party Saturday afternoon is a free event to support WHOW, they believe all women can achieve their goals and dreams. The Garden Party is open to the community (men and women alike) for those who want to learn more about WHOW. There will be snacks and booths and raffle prizes, details are here.
