Moccasin, CA — Containment continues to climb on the Flat Fire that caused residents to flee their homes this past weekend.
This morning the containment inched up from 93-percent yesterday to 95-percent for the blaze burning in the Moccasin area of Tuolumne County. The acreage remains steady at 163 acres.
As reported yesterday, the Horse Fire burning along Stagecoach Drive near Horseshoe Road in the Copperopolis area of Calaveras County was fully contained at 80 acres. Both blazes broke out on Saturday afternoon and the investigation into what ignited the blazes is ongoing, according to CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore.
