Update at 9:25 p.m.: The CHP reports that J-59 is shut down between Green Springs and Bonds Flat Road as tow crews work to upright a big rig that went off the roadway in the Keystone area of Tuolumne County. Further details on the crash can be viewed below.

Original post at 9 a.m.: Tuolumne County, CA — A big rig has overturned on J-59/La Grange Road south of Old Don Pedro Road near Keystone in Tuolumne County.

The CHP reports that the empty semi is on its passenger side and off of the roadway. However, it is forcing the closure of the roadway as CHP spokesperson officer Faustino Pulido explains, “To upright it and get it out of the field there, they’re [Tow crew] going to need to close the road for approximately two, may be three hours. So, we’re just asking people to avoid and take an alternate route if at all possible.”

Luckily the driver was not injured in the crash. Pulido did not have further details regarding exactly what cause the semi to go off the road, the name of the driver or the trucking company.  J-59 will be closed from Green Springs to Bonds Flat Road as tow crews work to upright the big rig.
