Update: Motorcycle Crash On HWY 49 In Sonora

Update at 2:23 p.m.: The CHP reports minor injuries in a solo motorcycle crash on Highway 49 in Sonora that stalled traffic this afternoon. The collision happened in the southbound lane of the highway at the Ohara Drive intersection. The rider was ejected from the bike, which went off the highway. Traffic was slow-going for about 20 minutes. The wreckage has been cleared, and traffic is moving freely once again.

Original post at 1:53 p.m.: Sonora, CA — CHP officers are on the scene of a solo motorcycle crash on Highway 49 in Sonora that is slowing traffic.

The collision happened in the southbound lane of the highway at the Ohara Drive intersection. The rider was ejected from the bike, and there are reports that they were on the ground, unable to get up. An ambulance is headed to the scene, but there is no information on injuries.

The CHP reports the motorcycle went off the roadway, and the wreck is not blocking the highway. There is plenty of activity in the area, so motorists may want to find an alternative route.
