Sonora, CA – An argument that escalated to a physical assault resulted in a search for a golf club wielding suspect.
The suspect, 34-year-old Sean Richie of Sonora, was found a short time later after the assault that took place at a property on Longeway Road in Sonora recently. Once on the scene, Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputies made contact with a man who had been hit in the head with a golf club. He told deputies that he and Richie got into a verbal argument. He detailed that Richie walked away during the dispute, but suddenly reappeared with a golf club in hand. As the two started quarreling for a second time, the victim says Richie raised the club and then smacked him in the head with it. He fell to the ground and Richie took off.
Richie was found and a short time later and arrested by deputies. He now faces an assault with a deadly weapon charge.
