Fatal HWY 120 Crash Victim Identified

Groveland, CA – The Tuolumne County Coroner has released the name of an 82-year-old Groveland man that died at the scene of a collision on Highway 120 while another man was flown from the crash site.

Noting that the victim’s family had been notified Tuolumne County Sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt. Andrea Benson released the deceased name. He is identified as William Timko.  As reported here last week, the CHP attributed the Friday morning wreck near Smith Station Road to distracted driving.  Timko was behind the wheel of a 1990 Acura Integra and was struck head-on by a 2018 Nissan Versa that crossed over the double yellow-lines. That vehicle was driven by 43-year-old Ioan Tudosa from San Francisco. He suffered major injuries and was flown to a Modesto hospital.

Timko’s car blocked both lanes of the highway shutting it down for about two and a half hours while investigators surveyed the accident scene and then tow crew removed the wreckage.
