Angels Camp, CA — Christmas festivities will be taking place in downtown Angels Camp on Saturday.
The Angels Camp Business Association (ACBA) will host the Open House and Wine Hop from 4-7pm, highlighted by the 28th annual Parade of Lights at 5pm. This year’s Grand Marshals will be longtime residents Joan and George Loomis, who have fostered 1,200 children in Calaveras County, and donated countless community service hours.
Dwayne Garcia, President of the ACBA, says, “Joan and George Loomis are known for their commitment to the community and their pioneering efforts in becoming the county’s emergency foster home in 1983.”
The husband and wife have been married for 58 years. They have seven children of their own, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
