Update at 6:30 p.m.: PG&E crews will work into the night to restore power to the remaining 968 customers without electricity in Calaveras County. 333 customers in the Camp Connell area on the south side of Highway 4 lost their lights around 5 p.m. Another 635 also along that highway and Pool Station Road stretching from Copperopolis to Angels Camp have been in the dark since around 2 p.m. At the height of this outage, 4155 customers were without electricity this afternoon. The utility has not posted causes for these outages. There are other single customers outages scattered across the Mother Lode as well.
Update 5:45 p.m.: Another power outage in Calaveras County. This one is in the Camp Connell area on the south side of Highway 4 impacting 333 PG&E customers. Crews are headed to the outage site and no repair time has been posted. However, crews continue to make progress as 792 customers down from 900 stretching from Copperopolis to Angels Camp along Highway 4 and Pool Station Road remain without lights. The utility still has not posted a repair time or a cause.
In Mariposa County, the electricity is back on for 608 customers in Incline, El Portal, Foresta and Yosemite West. The utility did not post a cause. Further details on outages in the Mother Lode are below.
Update at 5 p.m.: PG&E crews continue to work on restoring power to 900 customers stretching from Copperopolis to Angels Camp. The impacted area runs along Highway 4 and Pool Station Road in Calaveras County. Originally, 4155 customers from Murphys to Copperopolis were without lights. It is unclear if the rainy weather is to blame as the utility has not yet determined a cause or given an estimated repair time. Additionally in Mariposa, 608 customers in Incline, El Portal, Foresta and Yosemite West have lost their electricity. The utility relays that repair crews are at the outage site to try to determine a cause and make repairs, but no estimate restoration time has been posted for this outage either. Update at 3:30 p.m.: PG&E is reporting a new power outage in the Copperopolis area of Calaveras County. The lights went out for 131 customers on both sides of Highway 4 along Horseshoe Lane, Stagecoach Road up to Buckboard Drive. The utility reports a crew is heading to the scene and there is no repair time posted.
Update at 2:35 p.m.: PG&E crews are making progress on a power outage in Mi Wuk Village. A majority of the 31 customers without lights have had their electricity restored this hour. Nine remain without power after crews found a damaged power pole in the area. The utility posted their restoration time as 6 p.m. There are scattered outages impacting single customers in the Mother Lode. Those include one in Angels Camp in Calaveras County and in Tuolumne County: Sonora, Jamestown, Yankee Hill, Twain Harte, Mi Wuk Village and Groveland.
Update at 10:58am: PG&E reports that the earlier wide scale power outages in Sugar Pine has now been restored. The 43 customers in Mi Wuk Village are still without electricity. Full restoration should come by around 6pm. A damaged power pole is being repaired. However, there are a handful of scattered outages impacting single customers in the county. They are near Sonora, Twain Harte, Mi Wuk Village and Groveland.
Original story posted at 6:15am: Sugar Pine, CA — There are some power outages that occurred overnight as a heavy storm system passed through the Mother Lode.
There are 403 PG&E customers east of Sugar Pine without electricity, impacting homes on several streets. One of the power poles was damaged, and PG&E hopes to have everyone restored by 11:10 this morning. Nearby, in Mi Wuk Village, there is an outage impacting 43 customers. The area impacted includes parts of Kome Road, Jeanita Lane and Lavene Lane. PG&E is investigating the cause there, and there is currently no estimated restoration time.
