El Portal, CA — After being closed the past couple of days due to storm impacts, a major road into Yosemite National Park will reopen at noon today.
Numerous rock and mudslides occurred near the Ferguson Fire burn scar on Highway 140 over the past two days. The current closure runs between Midpines and Foresta Road. Caltrans reports that even though the highway is reopening at noon, travelers should continue to drive with caution. Officials will continue to monitor the road as more precipitation could arrive late tonight and into Saturday.
