Community Meetings Focused On Regional Park In Standard

Standard, CA — A series of meetings will kick off next week where community members can help develop a master plan for a new park proposed at the intersection of Tuolumne and Standard roads.

We reported last month that Tuolumne County is seeking $8-million in grant money to build a park, but it first must come up with a conceptual master plan. There are also plans to get local students involved through an art element that will be incorporated. The location is directly across the street from Standard Park.

The project will be the focus of this weekend’s Mother Lode Views featuring Tuolumne County Recreation Supervisor Eric Aitken and the county’s Recreation Activities Coordinator Julie Stewart.

The public meetings are coming up Tuesday, December 11 at Jamestown Elementary School, Wednesday, December 12 at Twain Harte Elementary School, Thursday, December 13 in the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors meeting room and Monday December 17 at Columbia Elementary School. All of the meetings will run from 6-8pm.
