Sonora, CA – A Sonora man was arrested for public intoxication after allegedly using his fist to vandalize an ex’s home.
Sonora Police responded to a report of a disturbance just before 11 p.m. on Sunday in the 300 block of West Stockton Street. While investigating, the female tenant told officers that her ex-boyfriend 25-year-old Billy Andrews broke out a window at the apartment. The officer also questioned two men in front of the complex that were notably drunk, according to Sgt. Tim Wertz, who adds, “He [Andrews] gave another name of a real person up in another area of the county, which put that person liable for whatever charge we arrested him for.”
A records check revealed that Andrews had four outstanding warrants that included one felony for another vandalism. He now faces a felony charge of impersonation of another along with vandalism and public Intoxication, both misdemeanors. It is unclear whether Andrews was injured from the glass after he allegedly smashed his fist through the window.
