Copperopolis, CA – A new bridge has opened in Calaveras County just in time for the holiday travel rush.
County road officials have announced that the construction is completed on the Stagecoach Road Bridge Project in the Diamond XX Ranch Estates off Highway 4 in the Copperopolis area. Stagecoach Road saw heavy flooding in January of last year when storms caused the McCarty Creek to overflow its banks. That caused travel headaches for residents of the estates and other motorists. As reported here this summer, at that time public works officials noted that repairs to the roadway was being worked into their schedule, but gave no estimated completion date.
Public works officials did not give a total cost for the project.
