Sonora, CA — Two people were arrested after the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office located stolen items.
The Sheriff’s Office noticed a “suspicious” looking vehicle parked along French Flat in Jamestown during the early morning hours Saturday. The deputy spoke to the driver, 18-year-old Armando Gonzalez. Inside the car, the deputy spotted stolen items that were from a burglary that occurred a short time earlier. Items included jewelry, comic books and figurines.
Deputies then conducted a probation search at Gonzalez’s mother’s home, 37-year-old Amber Rae Guzman-Powers, in the Big Hill area. Sgt. Jeff Wilson says officials found additional stolen property, as well as a small amount of methamphetamine and heroin. Guzman-Powers was not in the home at the time of the search, but she was arrested later in the day at the intersection of Gold Street and Stewart Street in Sonora. Both Gonzalez and Guzman were booked into Tuolumne County Jail.
