The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Mother Lode and the Sierra Nevada for Tuesday from 4 AM through 11 PM.
Snow levels may lower to 2000 feet by Tuesday afternoon.
Two to four inches of snow accumulation is likely above 2000 feet. Half a foot to a foot of snow could fall above 3000 feet.
Winds of fifteen to twenty-five mph are likely in the Mother Lode, with gusts up to thirty-five mph. In the Sierra, winds of fifteen to thirty-five mph should be expected, with gusts up to sixty-five mph over the highest ridgetops.
