Sonora, CA – Motorists watch out when driving in downtown Sonora. Sonora Public Works reports there is a tire busting sinkhole on South Stewart Street. The hole is more than a foot wide. Public Works says it could definitely cause damage to any vehicle that hits it. The hole is on the northbound lane of Stewart Street between Lyons and Theall Streets. Public Works doesn’t know what caused the sinkhole and there is no word on when it will be fixed. They do have truck blocking off the roadway and they are asking motorists to avoid that section of the street.
