Columbia, CA — The CHP is releasing the name of the motorcycle driver killed after crashing into a guardrail. He is 42 year old Shawn Angel of Sonora.
The accident happened just before 2 Friday afternoon on Parrotts Ferry Road past Marble Quarry Road in Columbia. The CHP says two motorcycles were traveling north on Parrotts Ferry. They say for unknown reasons Angel’s 2003 Suzuki crossed over the double yellow lines and smashed into a steel guardrail just before the bridge over New Melones. The impact ejected Angel from the bike.
Angel was taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center with major injuries. He died a short time later.
