High Speed Motorcycle Chase

Jamestown, CA — A man crashed near Jamestown while trying to outrun the CHP on a stolen motorcycle.

The chase happened shortly before 8 o’clock on Saturday evening. An officer attempted to pull over the motorcyclist near La Grange for a speeding violation. Instead, the man accelerated the 2007 Honda and headed up Highway 108 towards Jamestown. The rider turned onto Main Street in downtown Jamestown, going about 60 miles an hour, and hit a vehicle. The rider was ejected and landed near the crash site. The CHP says he tried to get up, but could not because of the severity of his injuries.

The rider, identified as 26-year-old Joshua Lankford of Turlock, was taken by air ambulance to Memorial Medical Center. It was later discovered that the motorcycle had been stolen.
