The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Sierra Nevada above 4000 feet, from Tuesday 7 PM through Wednesday 10 PM.
Snow levels will begin around 5000 to 6500 feet on Tuesday and drop down to 3000 through 4000 feet on Wednesday morning.
Minor accumulations of snow is possible around 3000 feet.
Five to twenty-four inches of snow accumulation is likely above 5000 feet.
Winds of fifteen to forty mph are expected with gusts ranging up to sixty to seventy-five mph over the crest of the Sierra.
Unsettled weather could continue through Friday.
