Sonora, CA — Workers installing broadband internet infrastructure will be staged in downtown Sonora today. Central Valley Independent Next (CVIN) Crews will be working on rock saw trenching on Shepherd and Lyons Streets, to Bradford and Steward Streets. CVIN officials warn of long delays and complete road shutdowns at times throughout the day. They ask motorists to avoid the area if possible.
The work is part of the CVIN Broadband infrastructure installation. The 18-county CVIN project was funded by the federal stimulus package in 2009. It is designed to increase the broadband infrastructure of the region.
