Easter Weekend Events

On this Easter weekend there are several fun events being held.

Mountain Motion will be putting on two performances of their juggling, comedy, theater, and dance show tonight, March 29th and tomorrow March 30th. Held at the Sonora Opera Hall, the doors will open at 5:00pm. The show promises to delight viewers of all ages. The performance trio on stage will be Erin Stevens, Kevin Axtell and Jeremiah Johnston. On Saturday, Christian Heights Church hosts a Free Community Easter Egg Hunt.
Beginning at 10:00am at the Christian Heights Athletic Field, the egg hunt is for all kids ages 12 and under. Details in the Free Easter Egg Hunt event listing.

Local Rangers will be offering “Holiday Geocaching” at Buck Brush Trail in the Glory Hole Recreation Area at New Melones Lake. Starting Saturday at 10:00am bring your GPS and find where the Easter Bunny hid some eggs. Meet everyone at the Glory Hole Entrance Station and caravan down to the Buck Brush trailhead. Participants will be given a parking pass for the duration of the event. More information in the event listing “Holiday Geocaching“.

Columbia’s Victorian Easter Parade and Egg Hunt will be held at Columbia State Historic Park on Sunday by the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. They invite the public to dress for the Victorian Easter Parade. Prizes will be awarded for fanciest Victorian hat, best dressed couple, lasses and lads, groups, and pets. Parade registration begins at 11:00am in front of the Fallon Hotel. The parade gets underway at 12:30 pm.
