Update: Sierra Nevada Storm Systems Through Thursday

The Winter Storm Warning issued for the Sierra Nevada above 5,000 feet, will expire at 5 AM Thursday.

The snow levels will continue to fall to near 3,500 to 4,000 feet by Thursday morning.

Above the 7,000 foot elevation, additional snow accumulations will range from ten inches to two feet.

Winds gusts as high as sixty-five mph will continue over the exposed ridgetops and near the crest of the Sierra.

Snow showers will continue Thursday.

A Winter Storm Warning means there will be snow covered roads and limited visibilities. Travel is not recommended while the warning is in effect. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
