Sonora, CA — Monday is the last day to apply for the 2013 Artist in the Woods program in the Stanislaus National Forest. The Forest service is offering artists a two week stay in the forest in exchange for a piece of their work.
Professional artists can apply to stay in a historic cabin at the Summit Ranger District in either September or October. All the artists have to do is donate an original piece of forest artwork and teach a public workshop during their stay.
Only one artist will be selected for each two week stay. Also money will be provided from 3 Forests Interpretive Association for meals, travel and supplies. All applications must be turned in by 5p.m. Monday, April 1st. Click here to get an application.
Last year Landscape Photographer, Joshua Cripps and Watercolorist and Engraver Dianne Stearns were selected as the Artists in the Woods.
