Yosemite, CA — Yosemite Conservancy is offering a new way for parents and kids to get closer to nature through the Arts. The group announced its 2013 Outdoor Art Workshops and Live Theater Performances in Yosemite National Park. One of the new attractions is art classes for parents and kids.
Conservancy Spokesperson Jerry Edelbrock says, “The parents want to do an art class, but we never offered anything for kids, so we have added on classes for the kids so the whole family can participate.”
Edelbrock also says now instead of doing all the art classes inside they are offering artists to set up their easels right in the middle of the ancient Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. Yosemite Theater LIVE! kicks off its season on April 12th. Once again this year, actors will bring to life John Muir’s adventures in Yosemite and his battle to preserve Hetch Hetchy Valley.
President of Yosemite Conservancy Mike Tollefson says. “Art and theater programs provide entertaining, compelling and creative ways to enrich the visitor experience and encourage stewardship of the park.”
