Sonora, CA — Monday night the City of Sonora Planning Commission gave the okay to place an 8 x 24 ft. mural near the site of the downtown Farmers Market.
BZ Smith, local arts and mural advocate, was Wednesday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
Smith helped to get the word out to pack Sonora’s City Hall with about seventy people on Monday.
The mural will be in honor of the farmer’s market, and longtime participant Ed Rodriguez who was killed in a vehicle accident last September.
The mural will be located at 101 S. Stewart Street. The volunteer committee now plans to pick up efforts to raise money for the project. To view the project’s website, click here.
