Sonora, CA — Sonora Regional Medical Center is celebrating receiving and award for surpassing quality standards for wound care for two consecutive years. The Robert A Warriner III, M.D. Center of Excellence award recognized the Center for Wound Care at SRMC for maintaining the center within the top 10 percent of its centers nation wide.
The Center for Wound Care provided specialized treatment during 2,549 patient encounters in 2012. Care at the center often prevents amputation and helps patients return to their active lives. The center is in the top 10 percent for helping 96 percent of patients heal in a median of 23 days for chronic wounds. The quality standard healing time for 91 percent of patients is 30 median days.
In addition over 93 percent of patients rated their overall experience at the Center as “excellent”.
Helogics, a Jacksonville, Florida company, presented the award. They are affiliated with more than 500 wound care centers including the one at SRMC. The award is named for the late Dr. Warriner who passed away in August 2012. A few of the SRMC staff had met him and had many nice things to say about him. His memorial website is here.
The Center for Wound Care is the only wound-care center in Tuolumne, Calaveras and Stanislaus Counties to offer Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in an outpatient setting.
