Arnold, CA — The Forest Service is planning to ignite a pair of prescribed fires in Calaveras County next week.
The first will be located about two miles northwest of White Pines along Summit Level Road. The second will be very close to the town of Arnold, adjacent to the Meadowmont and Mill Woods Subdivisions. Smoke will be visible from Highway 4, with notable down canyon drift smoke during the morning and evening hours.
Both burns are scheduled to start on Wednesday, April 24, and will take 5-7 days to complete. A total of 308 acres will be burned.
