Calaveras County, CA — Calaveras County has a new County Administrative Officer. Lori Norton will take over May 20th. Norton has 25 years of experience in public service. She recently worked as Deputy County Administrator of Sonoma County. Norton also was the Principal Analyst of Santa Barbara County, Principal Analyst of Ventura Regional Sanitation District and Purchasing Manager for the City of Thousand Oaks.
Board Vice Chair Darren Spellman says, “Lori is a well-experienced individual who the board feels is a great fit for Calaveras County to lead us into the future”.
Lori Norton says, “I am looking forward to working with the Board of Supervisors, employees, and residents on the challenging issues facing the County. I am also looking forward to becoming a member of the community and making Calaveras County my home.”
Norton will take over for Interim CAO John Blacklock, who has been filling in since January. He took over in January after CAO Jeanne Boyce retired in December. Boyce was the CAO for two years.
The County received 35 applications. They interviewed Norton and three other people for the position earlier this month. Norton’s annual salary will be $168,150.
