Spring Festival Draws Crowd

Sonora, CA — Downtown Washington Street in Sonora was packed with foot traffic as people took advantage of the warm air and fun. The annual Sonora Spring Festival was held Saturday.

Turlock Resident Mike Laggle said, “We came to town for a play last night and saw signs for the festival so we decided to stay the night. There was a big crowd and plenty of good food, music and crafts.”

The Sonora Opera Hall hosted a hair and fashion show. There was plenty of live music, arts and craft vendors, street entertainment, antique fire trucks, and a Disco Boogie Car Wash.

Sierra Bridal Owner Julia Jones said there was a larger crowd than last year and that’s good for business. “Our business isn’t located downtown, but this gives us a chance to get our business name out in front of thousands of people,” she added.

This free event stretched from the Red Church to Restano Way on Washington Street in historic downtown Sonora.
